The film I’m most looking forward to is David Fincher’s thriller Zodiac, which will be the first film in competition at this year’s Cannes Festival to open here. But the big disappointment concerns a film that isn’t going to open this summer. The British premiere of Grindhouse, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s spoof double bill of 1970s exploitation B movies, complete with fake trailers and advertisement, was scheduled for 1 June, but following box-office failure in the States, the opening here has been cancelled.

Fleeshman in talks to star in ‘Equus’

star Richard Fleeshman is in talks to replace Daniel Radcliffe in the UK touring production of ‘Equus’.
The 18-year-old is tipped to take over the role of Alan Strang, a disturbed youth who mutilates horses.
Radcliffe hit the headlines earlier this year when it emerged that he would be required to strip on stage for the role in Peter Shaffer’s 1973 play.

Warner Independent Pictures to Distribute Daniel Radcliffe …

Warner Independent Pictures announced that it is partnering with Village Roadshow Pictures to distribute domestically

starring Daniel Radcliffe while Warner Bros. International will help Village Roadshow distribute the Australian-produced and -financed movie overseas, according to
Variety
The film, the first in which Radcliffe has starred since the launch of the
Harry Potter
franchise, opens Sept. 14 in the U.S.

Warner Bros. To Distribute Daniel Radcliffe’s Indie Film

Rod Hardy
and was shot last year on location in Australia and South Africa, is set in the 1960s and centers on four orphan teens who grow up in the Australian outback and learn to use magic on each other. Okay, I made up the last part. When a childless couple moves into the area where the four orphans live, they begin to compete with each other to see who can get adopted. Other cast members credited in the film are Christian Byers, Lee Cormie, Teresa Palmer, James Fraser and Jack Thompson. According to IMDB, the film is a drama, a family film, a romance, and in the end, “each boy learns something about himself and his place in the world.”

Charity Idol Hugh Grant

The stars will join a host of other celebrities for ‘American Idol Gives Back’, a special edition of the talent show which will help impoverished African children and Hurricane Katrina victims.
