Harry Potter To Appear On American Idol Charity Special

Actors Forest Whitaker, Hugh Grant and Keira Knightley have signed up to perform on a special charity edition of hit US TV talent show, American Idol.
They will be joined by Daniel Radcliffe, Helena Bonham Carter and Desperate Housewives star Terri Hatcher on American Idol Gives Back, a one-off program to raise money for children in Africa and those whose lives were severely affected by 2005’s Hurricane Katrina.

Radcliffe Play Closing

DANIEL RADCLIFFE’s hit London production of EQUUS is closing in June (07), despite reports linking ORLANDO BLOOM, JESSE METCALFE and JAMIE BELL to the play.
Actors Metcalfe and Bell had been tipped to succeed Radcliffe in the critically acclaimed West End show, for which the 17-year-old Harry Potter star had to strip naked onstage.
However, Equus director Thea Sharrock wants the show to “go out on a high.”
The plan is for Equus to close in the British capital before being taken out on a 12 week tour of various UK venues.

Daniel Radcliffe’s play Equus is closing in June, just three months after it opened to critical acclaim.

The surprise move follows reports that directors were looking for a new actor to succeed Harry Potter star Radcliffe, 17, at the end of his run.

LOS ANGELES - The superstitious believe bad things happen in threes. Hollywood is counting on the opposite this summer, with the industry’s hopes resting on the third installments of some mammoth movie franchises.

First, there’s the big three, third chapters in the “Shrek,” “Spider-Man” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” sagas. “Spider-Man 3,” “Shrek the Third” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” debut within three weeks of one another, hatching what box-office analysts believe could end up a record summer.
