LONDON —  Media reports of “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe gaining access to huge amounts of cash when he turned 18 Monday were overblown, his publicist’s office said.
“It’s not a big deal today,” said a woman who answered the phone at the office of Radcliffe’s publicist. She refused to give her name, saying she wasn’t an official spokeswoman.
She refused to elaborate, saying Radcliffe’s finances _ and birthday party _ were a personal matter.

a spell on him.
To the disappointment of gossip columnists around the
world, the young actor says he has no plans to fritter his cash
away on fast cars, drink and celebrity parties.
“I don’t plan to be one of those people who, as soon as
they turn 18, suddenly buy themselves a massive sports car
collection or something similar,” he told an Australian
interviewer earlier this month. “I don’t think I’ll be
particularly extravagant.

The actor had a copy of the final Potter book delivered to his home yesterday, hours before it went on sale across the world.
Daniel, who plays Harry in the films, then left his London house with a Waitrose bag holding the last novel in JK Rowling’s sevenbook series. The author has already revealed that one of the main characters dies at the end of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was delighted to discover his favourite group was joining him for a taping of a late-night U.S. chat show.
Radcliffe, who turns 18 on Monday (23Jul07), told show host Conan O’Brien that rockers Art Brut were the best band he’d watched at England’s Reading Festival a couple of years ago.
And the actor went out of his way to meet the British group.
